Make Your Own Pitot Cover

Go to your favorite home repair store. No flying tips there but buy a roll of red duct tape. Don't get any other red tape only duct tape. Pull off about four feet or twice what you think the cover should be. If you forget to take it off all the time you could make it long enough to reach the door, so twice whatever that length is. Double the tape, sticky side to sticky side. Poke a hole in one end and put a quarter inch bolt through the hole. Find a piece of tubing, quarter inch ID and put it on the bolt. The tubing will then slip snugly over the pitot tube producing a nearly free pitot cover.

You can vary the bolt size to match your pitot tube to get the perfect fit.
